The support website for Drake customers is loaded with current information - accessible 24/7 - when you need it most! In addition to electronic versions of product documentation, software update downloads, and marketing kits, the customer support site includes:

  • Knowledge Base
The Drake Software education team is constantly updating and enhancing the Knowledge Base so you have 24-hour access to the most current infomation. Drake customers can access the Knowledge Base by logging on to support.drakesoftware.com, or by clicking the Internet shortcut in the software. The Knowledge Base is a great reference for troubleshooting or answering a specific question. You can customize your search based on keyword, category, subcategory, and/or year.


  • Online Tax Research with RIA    
All Drake customers receive complimentary access to RIA's Checkpoint Online. It is a complete tax research site that includes the Federal US Handbook, public domain materials, daily news updates, RIA Tax Return Guides, a form line finder, and eighty calculators. Plus, it's easy to access when you are working in Drake Software. All the answers you need are right at your fingertips!

  • Drake Software Forums
Online forums, moderated by Drake representatives, provide an opportunity for Drake customers to post messages about everything from business strategies and software questions to the latest tax news and software suggestions. Sometimes, customers answer each other's questions, while other times a Drake moderator may be available to provide explanations. This is a great way to share notes with your fellow professionals.

  • State Specific Information
Find state-specific details including reject codes, e-file mandates, addresses, and e-filing explanations and instructions.

  • Viewable EF Database
Access real-time information about your e-filed returns. Includes lists of rejected and accepted returns, checks that are available for printing, and features multiple reports.

We send broadcast emails weekly, or as needed, to notify you of important information such as tax law changes, IRS alerts, and Service Center information. You can access these emails through Drake Software.

The Drake Software User Manual is a comprehensive resource with over 250 pages of helpful information. It can be accessed from within the software or online. On-Screen Help
There are several ways to find answers while you are working in the software. To access field and screen-specific help, simultaneously press the [Shift + ?] or [Ctrl + ?] keys, or right-click with your mouse in the appropriate field(s). You'll find data entry tips and other helpful information quickly.

By choosing the Help menu from the tool bar, you can also access a library of useful information including Frequently Asked Questions and the screen-specific information mentioned above. From the Help menu, you can find information by viewing the table of contents or index, or you can search by keyword.
