POSITION: VB / C++ Developers
Full Time

Division: Drake Software

LOCATION : Franklin, North Carolina

Description

Serve as a point-person from inception through delivery of new software applications as a member of a small cross-functional team comprised of Developers, Analysts and Quality Assurance. Responsibilities range from new design, development and delivery of tax preparation applications, through enhancement and maintenance of existing products.

Qualifications

Requisite background includes a Bachelor's degree in an applicable computer science, math or related technical discipline, and two or more years' experience in the development of financial or related business applications using Visual Basic, Power Basic, Turbo Basic or Quick Basic. Additional experience with C++ and C would be very beneficial. The ability and willingness to work sustained hours during our tax season would be required.

A successful outcome to both a controlled substance screen and background investigation is required of all positions.

POSITION: Sr. C/C++ Linux Developers for Image Processing
Full Time

Division: GruntWork

LOCATION : Derry, NH

Description

Design, develop and implement software for our tax preparation automation SaaS service. Responsibilities include the enhancement, optimization and maintenance of algorithms for applications that extract customer financial data from PDF images, validate the extracted data based on business rules, and transform the output into a format suitable for additional processing and refinement. Additional accountabilities include testing and debugging in addition to escalated technical customer support.

Qualifications

B.S., Computer Science or related technical discipline; Masters preferred. Extensive experience in C/C++ development in a Linux environment. Seasoned with analyzing, developing and enhancing algorithms for image processing applications. Knowledge of threading and concurrency, and must be well versed in the full SDLC including project task estimation. Very desirable to possess experience developing applications utilizing the Leptonica image processing and analysis library, OCR technologies such as Tesseract and ABBYY, and experience with Cloud and SaaS offerings. A background in statistics is very beneficial.

POSITION: SQL Server DBA
Full Time

LOCATION : Franklin, North Carolina

Description

Full-spectrum responsibility across diagnosing server problems and employing preventive measures to maintain high availability servers; assistance in capacity and server planning based on application usage forecasts; proactive identification of areas for performance improvements; creation of processes to ensure data integrity and identification of potential data errors; execution of database backup and recovery operations, database patching and upgrades, and implementation of database security policies.

Qualifications

Requisite experience would include 5 + years as a Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 database administration; expertise in backup and recovery processes and performance troubleshooting; experience administering large, high-availability production systems; experience in scaling applications across multiple database servers; experience in a .Net development environment a plus.

These positions serve within a small cross-functional team, and serve as a point-person through the entire life-cycle. Responsibilities range from analyzing, designing, coding, testing, reviewing, modifying, debugging and documenting = ownership of one's work!

Qualifications

Requisite experience would include 3+ years design and development experience with C#.NET and/or VB.NET, solid knowledge of interaction with databases such as MySQL and SQL Server, and experience with any of the following: VB, C++, XML or Crystal Reports. A financial application background would be very beneficial.

POSITION: Tax Analysts
Full Time

Description

Immediate availability for Tax Analysts to serve within a cross-functional team comprised of Tax Analysts, Software Developers and Quality Assurance, and serve as a point-person through every step of the process. Responsibilities range from research to design and through product launch.

Qualifications

Requisite Experience- Candidate should have a solid knowledge of tax law, such as that possessed by an Enrolled Agent or CPA. Knowledge of at least one major tax preparation software product is encouraged. A candidate with a unique combination of people skills paired with an aptitude for technology is ideal for this position.

POSITION: Education Specialist: Taxation
Full Time

Division: Drake Software

LOCATION : Franklin, North Carolina

Description

Develop and present both live and online content across small to large audiences. Willingness and ability to provide customer support via telephone, periodically travel, and work sustained hours during tax season is required.

Qualifications

Requisite Experience- Includes two years of income tax and/or return preparation, a command of MS Office, paired with previous stand-up curriculum development and delivery. The minimum of an applicable two year degree or two additional years’ experience is required for consideration.
