Can I test e-file with a temporary EFIN?
No. A Drake Software temporary EFIN is just a placeholder and it will not work for test e-filing. Before you can begin to test e-file from Drake Tax, an IRS issued EFIN must be registered with Drake Software and entered on Setup > Electronic Filing & Account Information (ERO).
To register your EFIN with Drake Tax, you must provide Drake with IRS documentation of the completed status of your IRS EFIN application. See "EFIN Registration or Change - What Drake Requires for e-Filing" in Related Links below.
