Client Files Have Disappeared or Are Missing After Moving Locations



After I moved my Drake Software to a new location, all of my clients were gone and I couldn’t pull them in. What do I do? 

Client data is generally stored in a specific location on your computer. If the software does not know where to look for the data, it may not recognize client records exist.

To ensure that your software knows where to look or to view the data path to your client records, go to Setup > Data Locations and confirm the location of your client files.

To access Setup > Data Locations, you must have administrative rights under Setup > Preparer(s). Otherwise, you see a warning that you can view the settings but the fields are grayed out (disabled).
