ID - Quarterly Unemployment Tax Reporting (DAS)



Drake Accounting®: How do I create and file the Idaho TAX-020? 

 

For filing to the Idaho Department of Labor (DOL), DAS produces:

  • A PDF copy of Form TAX-020, Employer Quarterly Unemployment Insurance Tax Report, and Form TAX-026, Unemployment Insurance Wage Report.
  • A .txt or .csv file for e-file.

Note: All employers are required to file Idaho quarterly reports online.  To continue filing by paper, employers must submit a written request explaining why they are unable to comply with online reporting.

To prepare the TAX-020:

  • Select the Employees or On the Fly menu, then select State Tax & Wage Forms.
  • Make sure ID is selected, then select TAX020 from the Forms drop list.
  • Select the applicable quarter.
  • Review the form and make any necessary entries or edits.
  • Make sure the e-File checkbox is marked (if e-filing), then select Save/Print.

Save/Print creates a PDF of the form that can be printed and paper-filed (if the employer is approved to file by paper).  If e-File was marked, a .txt file for upload to the ID DOL Employer Portal is also created.

To e-file:

  • Log in to the ID Employer Portal.
  • Follow the menu options to upload the wage file.
  • The file for upload can be found by browsing to the drive where DAS is installed > DrakeAccounting20YY > DAS20YYData > Clients > client code > EFile > ID > IDTAX020 in DAS20 (DrakeAccounting20YY > Clients > client code > EFile > ID > IDTAX020 in DAS20 and prior) and selecting the file named IDTAX020_YYYY-MM-DD_HR_MIN_SEC.txt or .csv depending on the option selected (where YYYY-MM-DD_HR_MIN_SEC is the date and time of file creation).
