How do I clear EF message 5840?
This message reads:
MISSING NET OPERATING LOSS STATEMENT: When an NOL Carryforward amount is entered on line 8 of screen 3 (for Schedule 1), an explanation statement must be included.
Open screen SCH (available from the "Miscellaneous" tab of the Data Entry Menu), select "051" from the "Type of attachment..." drop list, and provide an explanation of the NOL amount in the text box in the middle of the screen.
To clear this message, go to Miscellaneous tab > SCH - Unformatted Statement in Data Entry. In the Type of attachment/statement number and title field, select 051 - Schedule 1 Line 8 NOL CF. Then, type an explanation of the NOL amount in the text box.
