Exporting Email Address Book
To import another address book into the Drake Email program, the address book from the other email program must first be exported. The following instructions are for some of the most common email programs. Once the export is complete, see Email Local Address Book for instructions to import the information into Drake Email.
Microsoft Outlook
- Select File > Export.
- Choose the Comma Separated Values (CSV) file.
- Click Next.
- Choose the Contacts list you want to export.
- Click Next.
- Choose a location to save the file and give the file a name.
- Click Next.
- Click Map Fields.
- Click Clear Mapping.
- To expand the sub-category click the plus sign [+] of the name indicator.
- Drag and drop First Name from the left column to the right column.
- Drag and drop Last Name from the left column to the right column.
- Scroll down to email and click the plus sign [+].
- Drag and drop email 1 from the left column to the right column.
- Click Next to continue the export process.
- Open Drake Tax Program and Import the file you exported from Microsoft Outlook.
Microsoft Outlook Express
- Select File > Export > Address Book.
- Choose CSV file option.
- Click Export.
- Browse to a location where you want to save the file and enter a file name.
- Choose to copy First Name, Last Name, andemail Address.
- Click Finish.
- Open Drake Tax Program and Import the file you exported from Microsoft Outlook Express.
