Custom Preparer Security is used to establish specific and unique security for an individual preparer. If you want to assign the same custom security to many preparers, the Group Security feature can be a better option.


Note

Security settings are not assigned to the preparer until you have clicked the Save button on the Preparer Setup screen.


Customizing Preparer Security

1.      Go to Setup > Preparers.

2.      The "Preparer Setup" dialog box opens.

3.      Select the preparer for whom you want to establish custom security.

4.      Click Edit Preparer.

5.      Under Security Options area, click Custom Security.

6.      The Preparer Security Setup dialog box opens.

7.    Click each menu option to grant (checked) or block (unchecked) security access to the related items.

8.      Click Save when finished.

9.      The "Preparer Setup" dialog box appears.

10.    Click Save. The custom security settings are saved and the "Preparer Setup" dialog box appears.
