Install Fonts
Install Fonts is used when tax forms or letters do not print properly.
Download PCL Fonts
If your tax forms are not printing properly they may be misaligned, miscellaneous characters may appear on the forms, or the whole form does not fit on the page. This tool sends fonts necessary to print the tax forms correctly to the printer.
- Go to Tools > Install Fonts.
- Click Download PCL Fonts. The "Print" dialog opens.
- Select the Printer from the list provided, that needs its fonts updated.
- Click Download. The downloaded soft fonts and their status will appear in the Font Download Status window of the dialog.
- Click Exit to close the Install Fonts dialog and return to the Home window
Download fonts automatically
- Go to Setup > Printing > Printer Setup.
- Select the (F7) Options tab.
- From the PCL Soft Font Option list, choose Download at Startup or Include with each print job.
- Click Save to save changes, close the "Printer Setup" options dialog, and return to the Home window.
Download fonts manually
To manually download fonts:
- From the Home window, go to Tools > Install Fonts.
- Click Download PCL Fonts to open the "Download PCL5e Soft Fonts" dialog box.
- Choose a printer from the Printer drop list.
- Click Download. As downloading proceeds, the font download status is shown.
- Click Exit when the download is complete.
Install TTF Files
If your bill or letters are not printing properly, you may be missing or have a corrupted OCRA10 True Type Font (TTF). You can install or update it as follows:
- Go to Tools > Install Fonts.
- Click Install Windows Fonts.
- You may be prompted to authorization for the install.
- You are informed that the install of OCRA10 is being done. When the update is complete, the message box closes and you are returned to the Drake [current year] Install Fonts screen.
- Click Exit to close the "Install Fonts" dialog and return to the main screen.
