The "Sort Form Order" dialog is used to set up the form order used used in the software's print and view modes. This screen is accessible by clicking the Set Form Order button in Printer Setup, or from the View/Print modes within the Enhanced viewing preference. The form order can be set for each of the return types and to sets corresponding to each type of return.
Sorting the Form Order
- Go to Setup > Printing > Printer and click the Set Form Order button.
- Select the appropriate return type from the "Series" drop list.
- To select a specific type of forms printing mode, select the desired type such as Federal or one of the listed states.
- Choose which set to update such as Client Set.
- Drag and drop to move a form. Press and hold the mouse pointer on the form to be moved, drag it to the desired position (in the list), and release the pointer. The forms print in the exact order listed. If a form is not produced by a tax return, that form is skipped and the next applicable return is listed.
- Click Save to save the list with your changes. The application alerts changes were successfully saved.
- Continue to change forms and sets as needed.
- Click Exit.
Copy Set Form Order
This feature copies a selected set order to another set. For example, copy the form order created in Preparer set to Client set.
- From the "Sort Form Order" dialog, click Copy. The "Copy Set Form Order" dialog is opened.
- From the available drop list, select the set that has the order you want to copy.
- Select the set(s) to receive the copied sort order.
- Click Copy.
- When you are done copying set orders, click Exit to return to the "Sort Form Order" dialog.
Reset Sort Form Order
The Reset Sort Form Order will change the selected package and set combination back to the default order. The default order sorts by form id order (1, 2, 3...999).
