Rich Text Format (RTF) is a proprietary document file format with published specifications, developed by Microsoft Corporation for Microsoft products and cross-platform document interchange. 

 

This document provides quick references of available RTF keyboard shortcuts for the version used by Drake Software. You can use these keyboard shortcuts when editing letters, and other documents, in the software's Client Communication Editor. To access the editor, Go to Setup > Communication Editor.

 

To use one of the combinations listed below, hold down the command keys CTRL, SHIFT, ENTER, etc., and press the letter or character keys. For example: To copy formats using CTRL+SHIFT+C, press and hold CTRL and SHIFT, then press C.


Keyboard Shortcuts

Description

CTRL+B

Bold – formats selected text; making text bold or removing bold formatting.

CTRL+C

Copies the selected text to the clipboard.

CTRL+SHIFT+C

Copy formats of selected text to the clipboard.

CTRL+X

Cut – removes the selected text from the active document and places it on the clipboard.

CTRL+BACKSPACE

Delete one word to the left.

CTRL+DEL

Delete one word to the right.

SHIFT+ ←

Extend selected text one selection to the left.

SHIFT+ →

Extend selected text one selection to the right.

CTRL+SHIFT+←

Extend selected text to the beginning of the word.

CTRL+SHIFT+→

Extend selected text to the end of the word.

CTRL+F

Find – searches the for specific text in the active document.

SHIFT+ENTER

Insert one blank line.

CTRL+I

Italic – formats selected text; making text italic or removing italic formatting.

CTRL+1

Line spacing; single spaced lines.

CTRL+5

Line spacing, 1.5 spaced lines.

Move cursor one character to the left.

Move cursor one character to the right.

CTRL+ ←

Move cursor one word to the left.

CTRL+ →

Move cursor one word to the right.

CTRL+V

Paste – inserts the contents of the clipboard at the insertion point (cursor placement).

CTRL+SHIFT+V

Paste formats from the clipboard to the selected text.

CTRL+P

Prints what is in the active window. Note: This is not a preview letter, it prints exactly what is seen in the editor.

CTRL+Y

Redo – after an action has been done, it can be reinstated in the document.

CTRL+R

Replace – searches for specific text in the active document and replaces it with new text.

CTRL+S

Saves the active document with the current file name, location, and format.

CTRL+A

Selects all text and formatting in the active window.

CTRL+U

Underline. RTF uses underline averaging, which provides uniform underlines even when selected text has different font sizes.

CTRL+Z

Undo last action. This selection can be repeated several times.
