How do I attach other state returns when claiming the credit for 'Taxes Paid To Another State' on a Maryland return?
When claiming a credit for taxes paid to another state, MD now requires the other state’s tax return to be attached as a PDF document. The other state’s tax return will be attached automatically when this credit is present and the preparer clicks the Attach PDF button from the toolbar in View/Print mode.
As a result of a May 18, 2015 Supreme Court decision (Comptroller Of The Treasury Of Maryland V. Wynne), Maryland is now crediting income taxes paid to local jurisdictions in other states.
