14197: PA - Multiple K1 Screens Appearing for Same Partner or Shareholder

Pennsylvania

In a partnership or S corporation return with Federal and Pennsylvania Forms K-1, why is it that each time I view the return, the number of PA Forms K-1 increases?

This issue typically appears in returns when the rounding partner option is used on the Federal K1 screen, and the rounding partner selected is not the last one entered.

Solution:

  1. On the federal K1 screen, clear the Rounding Partner (1065) or Rounding Shareholder (1120-S) option box.
  2. Delete all the PA K1 screens.
  3. Recalculate the return.
  4. Re-select the rounding partner or rounding shareholder option.
  5. (Recommended). Go to the main data entry screen and press Ctrl+Shift+R to remove unnecessary files that may have been created.
In an 1120-S return, EF Message 0444 can be generated by this duplication issue and is fixed by following the steps above.
