Why isn't my federal Net Operating Loss (NOL) showing up on my Iowa return?
The federal NOL does not automatically flow to the Iowa individual return. If this amount is supposed to be on the Iowa return, you will need to calculate it manually and enter it on line 24 of the Iowa return.
To do this, go to States > Iowa > screen 2 (1040 Pg 1 Continued & Pg 2) > Click on the link for Line 24 > Enter the amount on item U Net Operating Loss, Iowa.
