16398: AZ - Filing the UC-018 (DAS)

Arizona

Drake Accounting®: How do I create and file the Arizona Unemployment Tax And Wage Report?

For filing to the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES), DAS produces:

  • A PDF copy of Form UC-018, Unemployment Tax And Wage Report, and Form UC-020, UI Tax Wage Listing Continuation.
  • A .txt file for e-filing.

See Related Links below for required setup information before creating the state wage report.

To prepare the AZ UC-018:

  • Select the Employees or On the Fly menu, then select State Tax & Wage Forms.
  • Make sure AZ is selected, then select UC-018 UC-020 from the Forms droplist.
  • Select the applicable quarter.
  • Review the form and make any necessary entries or edits.
  • Make sure the e-File checkbox is marked (if e-filing), then select Save/Print.

Save/Print creates a PDF of the form that can be printed and paper-filed.  If e-File was marked, this will also create a .txt file for upload to the Arizona Unemployment Tax and Wage System

To e-file:

  • Log in to the Arizona Unemployment Tax and Wage System account.
  • Follow the menu options to upload the wage file.
  • The file for upload can be found by browsing to the drive where DAS is installed > DrakeAccounting20YY > DAS20YYData> Clients > client code > EFile > AZ > AZUC018UC020 (DrakeAccounting20YY > Clients > client code > EFile > AZ > AZUC018UC020 in DAS20 and prior) and selecting the file named AZUC018UC020_YYYY-MM-DD_HR_MIN_SEC.txt (where YYYY-MM-DD_HR_MIN_SEC is the date and time of file creation).
