How can I clear EF Messages 5378 and 5285?
EF Message 5378 occurs if the total of the amounts entered in the Amount of box 8 less box 13 above that is section exceeds the amount entered on line 8. The amounts entered in the Amount of box 8 less box 13 above that is section are assumed to be included in the entry on line 8.
EF Message 5285 occurs if the total of the amounts entered on the INT 1099-INT Interest Income screen in the Amount that is section exceeds the total taxable interest entered on lines 1, 3, and 10. The amounts entered in the Amount that is section are assumed to be included in the entries on lines 1, 3, and 10.
