How do I fix Form 8283 reject “F8283-042”?
On March 17, 2024, the IRS released an update requiring that a signed donee acknowledgment from every donee organization on Form 8283 be attached to the return.
On March 18, 2024, the IRS disabled reject “F8283-042.” Drake Tax will recycle rejected returns containing Form 8283 and retransmit them to the IRS; if Form 8283 contains non-cash contributions less than $5,000, no further action is needed. Additional donee documentation may be required for donations exceeding $5,000. See the Form 8283 instructions for additional information.
